10000 B.C. Review

10000 B.C. 10000 B.C.

All I can think about saying is that it sucked. Not just that it sucked, but that it kinda really sucked. But, the problem with that, is that it's not a very helpful thing to say. So, why don't we start this review over again?

10000 B.C. is the story of a boy who's father has abandoned him and left him to live his life out with their tribe. He ends up being an outcast but finds solace in another outcast. He ends up falling in love with an outcast girl. A few years later, the girl gets kidnapped by "demons" and he sets off to save her.

The premise for this movie has been over done. How many times have you heard a similar story? This movie, though, has the same feel of 300, but without the unique visuals. It's supposed to be the past, but you have a hard time believing it. I would have rather they said it was an alternate dimension or a different planet all together.

The visuals are not great. The music is bland. The story barely exists. If this all doesn't turn you away from the movie, then the ending will. I won't spoil it for those of you who do want to see the movie, but it's the cheapest play in the book.

The best part of the movie has to be the female lead character, though. She doesn't play the typical damsel in distress. While she starts off doing pretty much nothing at the beginning, by the end of the movie, she's more than willing to kill somebody. Is it because it's 10000 B.C. and women aren't civilized? Who knows?

All in all, this is definitely a wait for video, or a just skip all together. While I've read other reviews on how bad this movie was, I couldn't believe it until I watched it for myself, and now I wish I hadn't. So save your money or bandwidth and just skip it.
